Idaho City High School ~ Scholarship Program

Scholarship Recipients

Each year the Boise Ridge Riders award scholarships to students from the graduating class and recent alumni of Idaho City High School. Application instructions are listed below and are typically due by March of each year. Scholarship awards are selected by BRR officers and presented during the graduation ceremony.


Student applicants are encouraged to share how they take action to be stewards of the land and/or how they can help maintain the right to recreate on public land.  Student applicants are also encouraged to share their vision and pursuit of continued education such as certification, technical school, or degree that will support the natural resources in their community and beyond.

Essay Requirement:

Please attach an essay (500-700 words) addressing the following:

  1. Applicant Information: Please add the above Applicant Information to the top of your essay.
  2. Land Stewardship: Describe your actions or initiatives that demonstrate your commitment to being a steward of the land. How have you contributed to maintaining the right to recreate on public land?
  3. Future Vision: Outline your vision for pursuing further education, such as certifications, technical school, or a degree. How do you plan to support natural resources in your community and beyond through your chosen path?


Submission Instructions:

  • Application Info & Essay: Include applicant info at the top of your essay and save as a PDF file.
  • Submission: Submit the completed application information and essay to info@boiseridgeriders.org by the deadline to be qualified. You are encouraged to courtesy copy your submission to the Idaho City High School Counselor.

  • Deadline: All applications and essays must be submitted by March 3, 2026.
  • Award Presentation: Scholarship awards will be presented during the graduation ceremony.
